How clauses function as subjects, objects, and complements in Spanish, English and Chinese.

Complement clauses are clauses that function as noun phrases. Spanish uses que + subjunctive/indicative. English uses that-clauses, infinitives, or -ing forms. Chinese uses shuō/jué/zhīdào + clause, often with de nominalization.
